And The Beck Crazy Train Rolls On...

    (May have been posted before)

Becks reads The Boss as if he were Shakespeare. Story here.

Beck: Springsteen’s ‘Born in the USA’ is ‘anti-American,’ ‘propaganda’ | Raw Story

    <object width='320' height='260'><param name='movie' value='http://cloudfront.mediamatters.org/static/flash/player.swf'></param><param name='flashvars' value='config=http://mediamatters.org/embed/cfg2?id=201003110027'></param><param name='allowscriptaccess' value='always'></param><param name='allownetworking' value='all'></param><embed src='http://cloudfront.mediamatters.org/static/flash/player.swf' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' flashvars='config=http://mediamatters.org/embed/cfg2?id=201003110027' allowscriptaccess='always' allowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='260'></embed></object>

Apparently, we need to "wake up, people" because we "don't expect it" and what this "it" is that Beck pontificates on and on about is well...your guess is as good as mine. By the way, there is no need to comment here. I've tried to think of a way to rationalize this but all Beck really has waked me up from is a headache from listening to him into a full-blown migraine.

Beck does point out that the song and it's meaning are perhaps not really understood.

    I'll give him that one.

Born In The U.S.A. must be one of the most misunderstood songs.

    Thoughts?

Viet Nam vet retuning home cynicism, rejection and despair. What else is there? I'm not big on Springsteen but the song was never meant to be "patriotic" to begin with as much as it was a sign of the times on how America treated those who fought for this country right or wrong. If Beck wants to anally rape himself on the flag pole of the Reagan Presidential Library as some sort of fucked-up anti-Communist, pro-American act than by all means, let the mentally ill retard enjoy his perversion while quoting Brooks & Dunn instead.

You know, there was a time I thought Beck was as clever as a crow - in that he pulled this type of shit for notoriety and self-aggrandizement in order to sell his highly unreadable and grammar inept books but now I believe the guy is seriously fucked in the head with railroad spikes as large as the Eiffel Tower.

Beck has become a character...or at least it seems.

Whenever we vacation down south the only news stations you get are the US or BBC...so I watch some of this stuff every day...I avoid it when at home(unless there is nothing else on at all)...so yeah, I know what you mean when you say he can be as clever as a crow.

I know people look to him as a credible source...but how....I have no idea...

Robert Wuhl used to do a hilarious bit about the New Jersey legislature's absurd idea of wanting to adopt "Born To Run" as the state song, while apparently never having bothered to read the words. A town in the state is described as:

Baby this town rips the bones from your back
Its a death trap, it's a suicide rap
We gotta get out while were young

Daltrey's version ain't too bad, if not pedestrian and overly faithful...

My favorite Springsteen cover was done by (of all people) David Bowie, with Ronnie Wood on guitar, around the time of Diamond Dogs. This is from the Rykodisc version released in 1990. Sadly, the Rykodisc versions (arguably one of the finest re-release programs ever offered) were discontinued, so the bonus tracks on each release (along with the compelling artwork reproductions) are no longer available.

I'd auctually argue that because it goes against the grain of the typical bullshit patriotic songs (lee greenwood) that "Born in the USA" is indeed a patriotic song.

Springsteen is awesome. Anyone who hates on him is a douche.

Also, I'm ashamed to admit, that "Frankie Goes to Hollywood" auctually did a very good cover of "Born to Run"

Born in the U.S.A. is one of the biggest jokes of all time.

It's not the song that is a joke, well, actually, it is the song that is a joke, but it's not that the song is a joke although it is.

Anyway, Bruce must laff his arse off every time.

                Springsteen rewlz.

                Cheers! :bottle:

I hate Bruce Springsteen and I hate that song. There's my thoughts.

....and he should. Every uneducated dipshit who's too stupid to know any better should pay their piper. The only purpose he serves to me is that he exposes shitty chess players.
Him and and other fear-mongers like Alex Jones should be wiped off the American windshield so people can clearly see exactly what's going on.

They serve the very same people they say they're against.....FACT!
