Doing something ELSE? Sure. But as for drilling a mile down in the ocean? No.
How about not at least until they figure out how to "safely" (if there even is such a thing) drill at those depths? Because it's pretty obvious the oil companies have been bullshitting about their ability to do so. Supposedly BP wants to drill 2 miles down in the Arctic next where they'll NEVER be able even get enough equipment there or due to the conditions be able to mount a containment/cleanup effort if it goes to shit. It's TOO dangerous, and everyone needs to start thinking about the big picture now. To not do so is idiotic.
Where the F is everyone's outrage? NO, let's blame it on Obama... and/or start with the same stereotypes and racist shit you guys have been fouling the place with of late. It's beyond lame.
This is the perfect opportunity for the US to start getting its' shit together on alternative fuel sources, not potentially creating MORE disasters like the one we haven't even figured out how to STOP yet...
