All that you listed is one War not 2? Where's the recessions at in that list with thousands of jobs being lost before the President even entered office?

What difference does it make? The fact is the United States of America was founded on a wartime economy, and usually swells with profit soon after (if not also during) a conflict. War also creates jobs in many cases, though it is a despicable way to get an economy moving again, as people initially lose employment while industry refits toward wartime needs.

It's great if you work for a defense contractor but we have two wars going at the same time and the job losses mount. Also, let's not forget much of the equipment are troops use today is made by foreign companies like Baretta, Sig Sauer, Heckler and Koch, and Fabric National. I wonder how much of their equipment is made in China or Mexico? I bet most the stuff in a GI medical kit is made in China now.

I've never been able to grasp the business model that dictates an increase in defense spending results in a weaker economy, particularly because of what you just pointed out with overseas goods. Granted, money that would normally go to domestic weapons manufacturers is being spent abroad, but how can these jobs be downsized if they do not exist here in the first place? It's a circulat sort of argument that can only come around and bite itself in the tail because of logic.
