You could say that the whole issue confirmed that politicians are self absorbed detached cunts who don't have a fucking clue about how to represent the feelings of those they are meant to represent.

They will do anything to avoid helping their constituents. They just want to go to Washington, get paid too much and get all their 'bennies', and then suck up to their corporate masters so they can get as much money as they can. Wonder if any studies have been done that show how many people have gotten elected to Congress who wound up millionaires....compared to say, the normal population.

That said, hooray for Jon Stewart for doing that! Anyone who has a national TV show and is willing to point the finger at the fucking losers in Washington and their unwillingness to DO THEIR FUCKING JOBS is alright by me!

I watched it the other night. That was outstanding, quality programming. I really hope it wakes somebody up in Washington, but the sad fact of the matter is that it probably won't make any difference at all.

While it may technically be "comedy" programming, who can argue that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are NOT incredibly powerful voices?

Now, if only they'd use their powers for good and start making REAL waves, then we might actually get some of that hope and change we were promised.
