Apart from it being unheard of for a Jewish man at that time to be that age and still unmarried we have the strong hints at Jesus having a special beloved 'friend' when he was arrested Mark 14: 51-52, the Last Supper John 13:25 and 21:20 and at the crucifixion John 19:26-28. He also came out saying that gay sex was fine in Mark 7:14-16

...unless the "beloved" friend in question WAS Mary Magdalene, which is actually the interpretation that some use to support the idea that she was JC's wife. Of course both the Jewish society of the time and the Roman Catholic hierarchy which had taken control of the whole thing by the time the bible was compiled would obviously downplay any idea that a woman could be closer to JC than the "traditional" 12 apostles. And of course Paul the "recovering" Pharisee basically believed women should shut up and sit down in the church and keep their heads covered.
