Necroposting this because of the bizarre irony that PizzaMan has now come and gone, and Newt is considered the goddamned "frontrunner" just weeks before Iowa. Who the fuck woulda thought?

He is not a serious candidate, as pointed out above. His campaigns are designed to sell more of his lame "books". Saw a 60 Minutes piece a couple of months ago. That was when his entire campaign staff resigned.

I like the fact he is in the ring. If he is the best they have, Obama will be President no problem.

Yeah, well, when looking at various polls, the conventional wisdom is that 2/3rds of GOP primary voters still haven't settled on any of the announced candidates yet, which suggests that while they're not thrilled with Mittens they're ALSO not thrilled with anybody else. For good reason, too.

Frankly, I AM amazed that Newt is even still IN the race for the nom, much less apparently thriving, even when taking into account the flavor of the week cycle that Cain, Perry and Bachmann have enjoyed.

And yet, there's Mittens still chugging along at 23-25%, with Ron Paul consistently polling 2nd or 3rd in Iowa and New Hampshire.

That Gingrich is enjoying a surge could be nothing more than a last, desperate grasp at finding anyone but Romney. On the surface, Gingrich appears to be a thoughful candidate...until one considers the actual ideas of the supposed Gingrich "idea factory" and finds Newt is just as batshit as Bachmann, minus the religious fervour.

          I won't put anything past the typical Bible-thumping, gun-toting, anti-minority, anti-poor, anti-gay Republican base voter nowadays...

I don't "think" any of the Republican nominees can defeat Obama, but having said that, nothing would surprise me....

I had a feeling that sooner or later this would be brought to everyones attention, what I didn't expect was that it would come from Ron Paul....

Newt Gingrich's14-point lead over Mitt Romney among likely Iowa Republican caucus-goers is grounded in large part in support from Tea Party and evangelical voters, who have a far more positive view of Gingrich than they do Romney, according to a new CBS News/New York Times poll.

Not surprised the fundagelical wackjobs would prefer Newt over the "Mormon Cultist" Romney, but being a recent Catholic convert (at his third wife's request) I can't believe they would pick him over CBN University graduate Batshit Bachmann, or pRick Perry who just declared war on Christmas, gays, and Obama in his latest ad.

Oh geezus..... apparently today Newt said he would nominate the fucking lunatic neocon shitbag John Bolton as Secretary of State.

BTW, that's illegal, you dumb son of a bitch. Newt could be in jail for the next year, which could certainly take care of his campaign.

To illustrate why "Flip-Flopping" is a non-issue as all adults do it by revising their positions over time (When I was a child I spoke as a child etc...even the Bible Supports it):

So Poor Susie wants to go to the Prom but her boy friend insists on her getting a new dress. So Susie asks her Dad...."Johnny wants to take me to the prom....can I have a new dress"? Her Dad says "If you suck my dick I will buy you a new dress." Susie...says "No Dad....bleh you are crazy!"

So Susie goes back to Johnny and says...."My Dad said if I suck his dick I can have a new prom dress." Johnny says "Well we can't go to the prom without you in a new dress....come on...ask him again...I am sure he was not serious."

So Susie says "Dad I want to go the prom and I need a new dress!" and her Dad says...."Suck my dick and I will get you a new dress for the Prom". Susie screams "NO NO!"

So she goes back to Johnny and says "My Dad told me if I suck his dick I will get a new prom dress." and Johnny says "Well we can't go to the prom without you in a new dress, ask him again...I am sure he will relent."

So Susie goes back to her Dad and says "I want to go the prom with Johnny and I want a new dress!" and her Dad says "Suck my dick and I will get you a new prom dress." and she says "Fine...sigh whatever" and drops to her knees and starts giving a BlowJob. Suddenly she starts gagging and says "Your dick tastes like shit!" and her Dad says: "Yea your brother wanted a new Bicycle."

So that is how freakin stupid this whole conversation about "flip-flopping" is:

When you were 6 years old you thought of your Aunt or the World this way. Then when you were 14 you thought of the world this other way. Then when you were 24 you thought that it worked like this: but as you go through life you revise and learn and gather wisdom and knowledge and no longer speak like a Child. When your Aunt finally dies when you are 39 you say "You know...that was one kick-ass Lady", and you are Old enough to laugh at a joke like this that would have shocked you when you were 12.

Any President that cannot change a position based upon learning and new information should not have ever been elected.

Any President worth her or his salt knows how to LEARN, even in fucking office.

Flip off with the Straw-Man "Flip-Flop" argument.

Stupid is as stupid does....just ask Michelle Bachman.

The U-turn president: Barack Obama’s top ten flip-flops

In 1980 Margaret Thatcher famously declared she was “not for turning”, and admirably stuck to her guns as prime minister through thick and thin. In contrast, Barack Obama’s presidency has been filled with the kinds of U-turns that would have made even Jimmy Carter blush.

President Obama’s decision last week to do a 180 degree about-turn on the issue of military tribunals is the latest policy reversal by a presidency that has become increasingly adept at making them, usually without batting an eyelid. Below, I outline ten of the biggest policy flip-flops by the Obama administration since taking office in January 2009, with an emphasis on foreign and security policy.

It's an interesting time to reside in Iowa... I've tended to vote mostly republican over the years, but remain undeclared.

Can't say I'm thrilled with anyone in any party at the moment... it's like fantasy football but you can only pick from the bottom 5 worst teams/players in history...
