Rupert Murdoch not fit to run business, UK lawmakers rule

Global media tycoon Rupert Murdoch is "not a fit person" to run a major international company, British lawmakers investigating phone hacking at his tabloid News of the World reported Tuesday.

The ruling could prompt British regulators to force him to sell his controlling stake in British Sky Broadcasting, a significant part of his media empire.

The damning report accused Murdoch and his son James of showing "willful blindness" to phone hacking at News of the World, and said the newspaper "deliberately tried to thwart the police investigation" into the illegal activity.

To be fair to the old cunt, the panel that investigate him was split on this - several Conservative MPs were not prepared to go as far as to support the claim that he's 'unfit' to run a business. Given that they are currently part of the government - and Murdoch has already royally fucked one Cabinet Minister through revelations during the course of this enquiry - you could come up with a conspiracy theory if you wanted to.

Personally, you'd have to say that he is fit to run a business. Business exist to make money, and he's made lots of it. Moreover, if he'd actually gotten control of BSkyB in the UK he would have been en route to a monoply of the media (in effect). Is he ethical? No - but since when have ethics and captialism walked hand in hand?

Murdoch and son will not be going away any time soon.
