RALPH NADER THROWS HIS SUPPORT BEHIND ROCKY ANDERSON

    April 10, 2012

PORTLAND, Oregon--This afternoon the Progressive Party of Oregon announced that Rocky Anderson would be its nominee for the Presidency of the United States in the 2012 election.

In a joint news conference in Portland, long time activist and former Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader immediately threw his support behind Anderson.

At a joint news conference Nader said, “I am glad to see Rocky in this race and he has my total support.”

Anderson, the former two term Mayor of Salt Lake City, founder of HIgh Road for Human Rights and co-founder of the Justice Party said he was gratified by Nader’s support.

“Ralph Nader has been a strong fighter for causes I believe in: Social Justice, Economic Justice, and Environmental Justice. While others have become complacent about the devastation to our rights and liberties in this country, Ralph has never backed down. I am honored to have his support.”

Following the news conference, Anderson attended a rally at Portland State University where he spoke to an enthusiastic group. This evening he will officially accept the nomination from the Oregon Progressive Party.

That's 126 votes in the bag for Rocky.

Not yet. I'm actually hoping he puts a coalition ticket together with Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate.

Either one would make a great candidate, but they shouldn't be competing for the same votes.

Ralph Nader has a huge operation that can get Rocky on most the county ballots in the country. It's takes a huge staff of people and a lot of money to get on each country ballot in the US and each county has it's own regulations. It's a nightmare.

Yeah, we wouldn't want them to split the 8 votes.

Guess you missed the recent reports where 40 % of the voting populace no longer identifies themselves as either Democrat or Republican. Any honest observer would have to admit it's because neither party represents the people. I count myself in that number. I was a Democrat since I was 14, but I can no longer call myself one in good conscience.

It's gonna be a Hell of a lot more than 8 votes. Or 126 votes. Sadly, as we saw recently in Wisconsin, or last year here with some really stupid ballot initiatives, Shittyzens United has made it possible to bury the truth under a literal avalanche of fascist disinformation, so it's not going to be an easy fight.

But if you ask the majority of Americans if they honestly think this country has been on a good path since 1981, I think the answer would be a resounding NO.

The Republican Party obviously has no interest in restoring this country. Neither does the false "Democratic" party of Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Debbie Scatterbrained Lush.

We, the People can do better than this shit.
