Amidst the convention hoopla and hyperbole and fine speeches full of half (or in some cases, no) truths, a key catch by DemocracyNow most TV viewers didn't get to see. As Romney strides toward the stage, he shakes the hand and clasps the shoulder of David Koch, who is giving him close to $400 million to advance the right-wing agenda. Mysteriously, the networks cut away just then to show two bubbly young women supporters, then came back to Romney. Curiouser and curiouser. Lookit Romney's slo-mo expression as he points that knowing finger. Therein, all the lies and corporate money and overarching secrecy of the election.

Why are you libs so infactuated with the Koch brothers? The truth is the big money buys both sides. Don't think they don't fund the left. Look at Obama. Do the politically connected rich win with him? Absolutely. He made oil more expensive. Don't you think people like the Kochs love that?

Until the government makes and passes laws putting a ceiling on how much money can be spent on a campaign to levels where a lot of candidates can afford it the big money will continue to own both parties. Running for office has intentionally been made to be very very expensive. Why? To price the competition out of the race.

So if you are serious about winning you have to have that big money or you just end up like Ralph Nader.
