But the bullshit talking point about Obama having a "solid" majority for two years is a lie, and needs to stop. At no point did he have a 60-seat filibuster-proof majority. Franken's election was held up for 7 months, Byrd and Kennedy were out ill prior to DYING, and then Kennedy was replaced by Scott Brown (R). And more bullshit - when has Obama been "unwilling to reach across the aisle" or make concessions?

Say what you will, the truth is, nothing has been done and we are worse off because we have a Congress that can't or won't work together. I brought up the health care bill because majority of Americans didn't want it, yet with Pelosi leading the house and Reid leading the Senate, and with a majority of votes rammed that billed through. Did they have a 100% solid filibuster majority, no, but Obama had enough to get what he wanted. It wasn't until 2010 that people were so fed up with a Congress that wasn't representing a more centralist balance, they voted and we ended up with a Republican controlled house. So, the game is still being played and us in the middle are the ones suffering for it. Now there's no way in the world i would not mention how Harry Reid has been the biggest problem on the Senate side of the fence.
