The reason why these retirees are in the predicament was because of the rushed money given to them for the bailout, which in turn was a hasty and rushed Bankruptcy. Romney has said over and over, that a normal Bankruptcy that goes through the process of restructuring GM and Chrysler would have saved around 90 billion tax payer dollars. Even in one of the debates he said we could have hired 200k more teachers with that money.

Well, if you want to believe Massuh Mittens, then that is your prerogative.

Sure, there may have been a cheaper or more efficient alternative to large bailouts.....but then, when it comes down to it, there are only some of the greatest financial wizards involved in planning for such things..........or not.....

They also don't mean shit when pollsters call only landlines, during the day time when the only people who are home are old folks who don't have caller ID, or unemployed people who DO have caller ID, and avoid answering any calls from numbers they don't recognize, because it's probably a collection vampire.

Reading a little economic theory wouldn't hurt either of you two, NicktheDick and Krusty. The problem with the bailout, as opposed to a structured resettlement (including a change in management), is that the same mistakes that were committed to get Chrysler in that mess in the first place will be committed again. Their dealerships are laying off people left and right...not a good sign. Chrysler is on the way out.
