oh boy ..
you and I live in the same state - why I don't chose to register an AR in NYS is there will be an annual registration fee that has yet to be determined and the owner will be unable to sell the gun once registered - well, maybe to an out of state person, unless the federal gun control ban goes into effect - then you are stuck with it & have to pay whatever amount is to be determined annually..
with no ability to sell and a need to pay a fee that could rise to be any amount, be it $15 to begin with, it could become $50 maybe $500 - who knows , that kind of bs is what NYS is becoming famous for ..
please don;t tell me you support the new no plea bargaining of speeding tickets proposed by Gov. Jr. C
if you support that - we are either 2 worlds apart on every darn issue or you are just busting my ballz for shits n gigglesComment

I didn't realize he wanted to eliminate pleas for speeding tix. But, in case you haven't had one recently, the fees for a "parking ticket" are almost as much as for a frigging speeding ticket nowadays anyways! No longer the old $25 fine of ten or fifteen years ago...Comment

the guy is almost looney with some of his fee proposals to avoid tax increases -no plea and an $80 state court charge in addition to local court charges
I had a ticket dismissed and the court fee was $65 - that is loco
a trooper got me going down a long steep hill 15 mph over the limit - friggin nuts
even the DA said that was a dumb speed trap - I was in Herkimer in the middle of e. Jeebus and just bought the 4 runner 8 miles previous to that stop, so it was new to me and I wasn't used to the sensation of speed in that vehicleComment

If I didn't, why would I say nobody needs to own one?
It's a fucking 50 caliber handgun, which in and of itself is a ridiculous idea. And unless a herd of stampeding elephants is charging your house (which is unlikely unless you live in Africa) why the fuck would you ever need one?
And it's definitely not a gun for chicks either.....

Heh....this should be a national pastime:
Seattle Gun BuyBack Get’s JACKED! Turns Into a Damn Gun Show!
Police officers in Seattle, Washington held their first gun buyback program in 20 years this weekend, underneath interstate 5, and soon found that private gun collectors were working the large crowd as little makeshift gun shows began dotting the parking lot and sidewalks. Some even had “cash for guns” signs prominently displayed.Gun Buyback Goes Bad
Police stood in awe as gun enthusiasts and collectors waved wads of cash for the guns being held by those standing in line for the buyback program.
People that had arrived to trade in their weapons for $100 or $200 BuyBack gift cards($100 for handguns, shotguns and rifles, and $200 for assault weapons) soon realized that gun collectors were there and paying top dollar for collectible firearms. So, as the line for the chump cards got longer and longer people began to jump ship and head over to the dealers.
John Diaz, Seattles Police Chief, wasn’t pleased with the turn of events stating “I’d prefer they wouldn’t sell them,” but admitted it’s perfectly legal for private individuals to buy and sell guns, FOR NOW. Mayor Mike McGinn said at a news conference the private transactions are a loophole that needs to be closed. “There’s no background checks, and some (guns) could be exchanged on the streets that shouldn’t be in circulation.”
But Schuyler Taylor, a previous gun retailer attending the event in hopes of buying weapons, asked “Why not offer them cash versus a gift card? I’m still taking the guns off the streets; they’re just going in my safe.”
People were reportedly, at one point, jumping out of vehicles whilst sitting in traffic – making on the spot deals with the gun dealers.
But the BuyBack wasn’t a bust. On the contrary – their $80,000 supply of gift cards didn’t last but 2 hours, and by 11:00 am they began attempting to issue IOU’s at which point the entire crowd responded by turning and marching toward the gun dealers, forcing the police officers to pack it up for the day.
On one last note of hilarity, the Seattle Police department claims that they will check the buyback guns to see if any were previously stolen and, if so, try to return them to the rightful owners! LOL. Brilliant!
In 1992, Seattle police collected more than 1,200 guns in a four-day buyback program.
Now the only question is, when will the Seattle Police department stage the next gun show?
Christ...these people are stupid....this shit could be sold for 2-5 times (or more) than a stupid gift card given by the fucking city.......to legit collectors/dealers...Comment

A lot of people don't know how much some of those old guns are worth. Someone might be bringing in an old Colt, Winchester, or a German Luger someone brought home from the war. Some of those guns can be worth tens of thousands of dollars. Old Colt Peacemakers go for crazy money now.
It works both ways too. Gun stores and pawn shops unload all the old worthless junk guns at these things and get money. Even on guns missing parts that can't shoot.Last edited by Nitro Express; 02-01-2013, 04:31 AM.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

Nobody - and I mean nobody - is gonna take a relatively new pistol or rifle and turn it in for 200 bucks. I wonder how many gang bangers showed up and turned in their guns...loads I'm sure.American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
