I recall vividly an "unemployment" argument here long ago where BBB was making fun of Germany's unemployment payment system, which was virtually indefinite. I think we pointed out that the U.S. unemployment rate has always been higher than the actual reported percentage mainly due to people giving up looking or no longer getting benefits. This has always been the case - but people only seem to notice with a political/partisan axe to grind. Europe tends to be more truthful and consistent in their unemployment figures in both good times and bad...

I didn't even notice, but of course we're due for a "correction" because the Dow is probably higher than it should be...

Of course, the Dow largely fell based on "the slowing" growth of the Chinese economy. But I'm sure you'll blame Obama's "socialist policies" for that!
