      When talking with other fly fisherman in the canyon many claim they have served and suspect the reason for military helicopters being there are "for training supposes in mountainous terrain much like that of Afghanistan." which makes sense. The only problem is they're fucking loud, so they scare the shit out of the wildlife creating all these mini-like sonic booms that echo off the mountain walls when they rise up out of nowhere and fly off in these weird formations.

            Where i fish in northumberland its next to a national park that is partially used by the uk military for exercises , the reservoir is in a bit of a valley and must be on some route for the air force to train on .Every time Ive been up there the jets come flying down really low , you can see pilots and shit ..incredible noise.

              I was out in the desert in western Idaho and there was an Apache helicopter just hovering over a small ridge. They probably were practicing ambushing tanks and using the ridge as cover. What amazed me is how quiet it was. I didn't notice it until I was about 100 yards away and then I could hear it.
