dude, that article doesn't count. it assumes obama's budget proposal, which IS NEVER EXPECTED TO BE ENACTED.

fact: taxes for the vast majority of Americans were lower under obama for just about the entirety of his first term. the overall tax rates were the same as bush, but obama had the making work pay tax cut and then the payroll tax cut.

the only taxes that have increased so far are the upper income tax bracket: for those making more than $400K solo or $450K married. and yes, there are some medicare taxes, again, on higher incomes. but the fact is, even under obama's current proposal (which again, is not intended to be implemented as written) the average person would NOT pay more. the only way you get to them paying more, according to your forbes article, is if they smoke, which the majority don't - and an avoidable tax at that. however, that would STILL leave smokers paying less taxes than they did under clinton.

so, i stand by my critique of your statement that obama's plans were to "tax the fuck out of him," which is just plain wrong.

man, i was kind of kidding about no longer mistaking that you could read, but after this, i'm left questioning. because my original post AND link both said that health insurance premiums HAVE risen. i was just pointing out that they've risen higher than income for many years - well before obama. so your attempt to blame obama ignores the previous increases.
