He truly deserves the wonderful pension and inflated pay increases he received from the government. And oh yeah, the killer health insurance plan!Comment

Some highlights of Paul's plan:
Cuts $902 billion in spending during the first year of a Paul presidency compared to current spending levels, or $981 billion compared to President Obama's budget request
Eliminates five federal departments: Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce, Interior, and Education
Lowers the corporate tax rate to 15 percent
Makes a 10 percent reduction in the federal workforce
Eliminates all U.S. foreign aid
Allows younger citizens to opt out of Social Security
Converts the federal Medicaid program into block-grants distributed to states
Over its first four years, Paul's plan would cut over $4.1 trillion in spending while bringing in $2.9 trillion less revenue, reducing the projected deficit by $783 billion according to the Paul campaign's own comparison to the Congressional Budget Office's baseline projections of current spending levels
Things like this are looked at as too radical...
But I think something along those lines would be a good start in the right direction...

About the only thing that makes any sense in there at all, is cutting foreign aid. We know Ron Paul is opposed to PNAC globalist occupational bullshit wars, so why isn't he calling for "defense" cuts here? That's where the bulk of wasteful spending is, because aside from pay to the service men & women themselves, and their veterans benefits, it's pretty much ALL wasteful spending. Certainly every last penny wasted in Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, Korea, etc. were. So is sustaining occupations for wars that ended 50 or 60 fucking years ago.
So how about that, Ron?

Ron Paul Collects Social Security
By Chris Good
Jun 21, 2012 2:29pm
Even though he wants younger generations to transition away from Social Security, the Texas congressman and Republican presidential candidate says he receives checks.
“I do,” Paul acknowledged in an MSNBC interview on Wednesday. When The Huffington Post’s Sam Stein asked if Paul shouldn’t set an example by declining the government benefit, Paul said no.
“Just as I use the Post office, too, I use government highways, you do that too, I use the banks,” Paul said. “I use the Federal Reserve system, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t work to remove this. In the same way on Social Security, I am trying to make a transition. If I were 20 years old and was offered the chance, I’d jump at it, and the young people are jumping at it because they know this is not solvent.”
Paul, 76, has argued that Social Security and Medicare are technically unconstitutional. A major part of Paul’s deficit-reduction plan has involved allowing younger Americans to opt out of Social Security.Comment
