I can't believe the Dems allow him to speak...and he gets a standing ovation.

My wife said the other night, 'he's a good guy'. That's all he's got going for him.

You are forgetting George Bush Sr. and the Peace Agreement between Israel and Jordan in October of 1994. Bush Sr. of course did not broker this deal (no U.S. President did) but his actions greatly contributed to peace between Isreal and Jordan. The 1991 Gulf War crippled Jordan's economy becasue of the defeat of Iraq and the subsequent embargo against her that followed. So, the peace was greatly influenced by economic factors, and of course the good relationship that Yitzhak Rabin and King Hussein had.

1994? Then shouldn't President Clinton get some credit as well?

Of course we all know that President Clinton would have been credited with bringing Israel and the Palestinians to peace, had Yitzhak Rabin not been assassinated by a programmed Mossad/Likud murderer.

I don't think "accidental" economic damage is enough to consider Poppy a peace partner. And it's not as though Jordan was ever counted among the extreme anti-western Muslim countries.

If you want to give Clinton credit because he was in office at the time then fine but no actions on his part made it happen.

Wasn't Barak good enough? That whole thing didn't happen because of Arafat.

You certainly can count Jordan as anti-Isreal, which is what we are talking about here. Jordan invaded Israel in 1948, sponsored Fedayeen raids against the Israeli civilian population between 1949 and 1956, and barraged Israel with artillery in 1967.
