Lots of the teachers at my kid's high school have concealed carry permits, including the principal. We have an officer who's assigned to the school and is there all day, every day. He's armed with a pistol, taser, and in his car is a shot gun and an AR, parked right outside the entrance every day. Of course somebody is gonna say an armed cop on staff can't stop two kids hell bent on killing other kids. It depends. But he'd be able to respond and minimize the damage the morons could do. It's damn sure better than throwing a handful of pencils at someone shooting up the place.

And as far as concealed carry permit holders go...I think we should at least be able to carry in our cars while dropping off and picking up our kids. But...gun free zones are great and nobody has ever been shot up in a gun free zone so I'm wrong.

Each day 50 million kids go to school. In the last 20 years there have been 3 or so killings which have led to the deaths of under 100 kids.

I'm not belittling that but it's important to understand the numbers before putting more guns in there.

In the same period of 20 years more than 60 times as many kids have been killed by their parents. It's insanely unlikely your kid is going to get shot at school even in America, less than a million to one.

So what you're saying is that the vast majority of law abiding citizens that own guns never go and shoot up a school? I'm not talking about crazies whose mothers buy them guns. Just regular ol' people who pass background checks and buy guns. Interesting.
