This is what our wall is gonna look like. Except it's gonna be covered in Confederate battle flags and we'll have speakers on it every 10 feet blasting Wild Eyed Southern Boys and I'm gonna be up their with my Rebel AR and throwing empty Natural Ice cans and bible verses carved on rocks down at yall from my secure firing position that I can't fall out of. Plus it's gonna have a kick ass zip line that I can ride from the wall straight into the beer/gun/Southern rock store/First Baptist Church! Hell yeah! CSA!!
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.

Fuck it. I wish to go back to 1979 and become this guy (a fellow I knew then)...
Shit, this same dude says the same shit he did back then, only now for Lincoln car commercials.
Somebody shoot me.

If we add Donnie's idea, it would be perfect. That way we could have the trigger happy rednecks in the South shootin' & a hollerin' at all them bombing towel heads trying to explode the Southern Wall with their own bodies. Everybody'd be happy doing what they like to do & would leave the rest of the world alone.
Since the only other people in that continent are the Latino drug lords & the Brazilian scum, it would mean that 90% of the world shit would be contained in only one continent. There's Canadians too, of course, but nobody gives a shit about them. And Alaskans are safe up North, nobody else is crazy enough to go up there.
Run away from that hell hole, Kristy. You'll always have a safe place to be in my awesome pad near the beach. But you can't smoke inside.Comment

If people on both side of the gun control issue actually give a crap about mass killings in the US then BOTH sides has to look in the mirror because until the bumper sticker rhetoric on both sides is let go no effective solutions will occur.
If it was simple as guns only kill and they are the problem then why do the Swiss have mandatory gun ownership and mass killings just do not exist there. There are countries with extremely tight control that also have almost zero mass killings. Perhaps the issue is more complex than guns evil, laws bad or vice versa.
If you are spitting out rhetoric from either side of the argument go fuck yourself, you really don't care about the issue. Unfortunately the solution requires society to make some hard choices, really look at a lot of policies from mental health, drug treatment, gun regulation, enforcement, etc... and fyi because someone regulates car emissions and makes you get a license doesn't mean anyone is trying to take your car.
The rhetoric is such bullshit and in the meantime more and more folks on the fringe are resorting to this and more and more kids will be shot in inner cities everyday with no news coverage because it has almost become an accepted way of life.Comment

Blah...blah...blah. Leave it to uber-rich college boy Never buzzed to turn this into a pseudo-sociopolitical issue. This is about passing laws that keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill (like Never buzzed here). It's that simple.Comment

Hey fantasy SMChick, you still alive. Not a psuedo anything but how do keep a registry of mentally ill but yet not violate medical record privacy laws? Do you keep an extremist list comparable to no fly and how do you determine who goes on?
Why do other cultures with guns not have these issues? Chicago is highly regulated gun laws and very high gun violence while other areas with minimal regulations do not have the issue.
I'm not a gun person at all but I do know if anyone thinks its that simple and wants a bumper sticker solution they are repeating the mistakes of the war on drugs and just say no. The unintended consequence of rhetoric based policy is felt for decades. War on drugs has exploded the prison population which has had significant social and fiscal knock on effects. Senator Booker recently presented research on how some of the knock on effects have impacted even remotely associated issues like nutrition and food supply in the inner city. Reversing many of those policies in states has resulted in 17% declines in crime rates and the CDC reported an almost 25% decline in opiod overdose in states with a medicinal cannabis program.
BOTH sides need to resist the urge to have a knee jerk reaction or you risk making a simple mistake of repeating history via a rhetoric based policy.Comment

Never was has a point with the rhetoric from both sides I've said it time and time again - the extremes on both sides spend all their time hollerin' and nothing gets done. And Kristy is right cause we gots to figure out a way to keep crazies from getting guns.
Banning certain types of firearms won't do the trick. There are exactly 7 gazillion AR style rifles in the US today. If the gubment bans new sales and requires current owners to register them most people who own one are gonna suddenly forget they have one. And if Crazy Charlie can't buy a so-called assault rifle then he's just gonna buy a shotgun or some other high powered rifle to carry out his fucked-in-the-head mission.
And Hill Dawg getting back on the "sue the gun manufacturers" idea is insane. You don't sue Ford if you get hit by a drunk driver and your new bad ass Challenger gets wrecked all to hell.
If you want to cut down on gun violence then you force every single person who's buying a handgun or long gun to pass a background check administered in the county in which they reside. It won't prevent criminals from carrying out illegal sales but it would close the loophole any states have that allow people to make an individual to individual sale, including gun shows.
The tough part is how to stop the crazies from getting a gun. Would a psych evaluation paid for by the applicant do the trick? Who's going to administer it? Who's going to make the determination that you're a nut case but Kristy isn't? Future intent is pretty hard to predict.
We could prevent these types of shootings from occurring if the gubment rounded up all weapons except for those that are single shot. But again, most people are gonna have a terminal case of amnesia if the Law Man shows up and says lemme see your guns. And the criminals certainly ain't gonna suddenly develop a conscience and turn theirs in.
The problem isn't guns. The problem is we've got a fucked up segment of society that, while extremely small, carries out these mass murders mostly just for notoriety.
So tighten up background checks, slap a waiting period on handgun purchases beginning the day an application for purchase is approved, require a safety/training class to be paid for by the applicant. Those are things we can do today without infringing on anybody's Second Amendment rights.
And we need to rethink these so-called Gun Free Zones. Or just rename them what they are - Murder Magnets.American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.

Why is it that some people who think they have a higher IQ than everyone else can't tell the difference between a comment made in jest and a serious one? I'm an agnostic. Unlike you and your skirt wearing comrade I don't claim to have answers to questions there are no undeniable answers to like how life was created.
