If I could speak a word of German, I'd consider it. Unfortunately my family had been here too many generations and that got lost. I can remember my grandfather speaking a few words in German, but I don't think he was even fluent by any means. And I'm sure it's been too many generations for the easy path to citizenship that some countries offer to the offspring of expats.

As far as the beer goes, I'll put my favorite West Coast microbrews up against Deutschland's finest any time

I'm not sure how accurate your graphs are but they do see to show that even outside the US our political parties are way more authoritarian than we are.

That and how little choice you end up with in the US...

I'm not convinced with the questions re: right/left, I don't think I'm that left wing at all especially for a European I just don't think that big corporations are out there to look after us, their job is to make money for their shareholders and the questions translate thinking that as some sort of commie thing.

The graph has me at the same right/left level as the Scottish Socialists who I wouldn't dream of voting for.
