Yes, it's always kind of weird when I read posts professing that Pence is somehow saner or more sensible than Donald Trump.

However, I don't feel that Trump supporters should have their concerns dismissed out of hand by being lazily characterized - as more than a few liberals tend to do - as a bunch of rural white dummies. The same charges of discrimination that are made at Trump supporters are also applicable to those who castigate those same supporters. I guess it's easier than looking at where they're coming from, or where the supporters of Bernie Sanders are coming from, and perhaps concluding that there are a lot of people in America who feel the conventional political process isn't addressing their needs. And from there starting to ask why they feel this way. And thinking about how their lives can also be made better, rather than just saying "oh well, that's what they get for not going to college and living in one of the coastal states, fuck 'em!" And their feelings about this are so strong they are willing to embrace candidates far outside the norm. And these feelings aren't going to go away after November 8th.

But, yeah, Pence is more red meat for the gop base on top of the 80 ounce Porterhouse Trump has been serving up for the past year.

Imagine if Trump hadn't been saying all the racist, sexist things he has been, and the tapes/reports of his past treatment of women hadn't risen to the surface: he'd have beaten Hillary easily. Should she win (and I hope she does, because I voted for her), I'll have a tough time making a case that she didn't win in large part because her opponent was so massively flawed.
