Alex’s lawyers will say he’s insane which is no lie and they won’t be able to stick him with anything. Then he will go back to selling Alpha Male Ball Blaster testosterone infused energy drink. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

I don't know much about US law but I would guess this one will run and run up the appeal courts because of the 1st amendment.
In recent years most other western countries have brought in 'hate speech' legislation mainly due to the internet. These nuts have always existed but they used to stand in town squares or bus stations spouting crap standing on a box and they could just be ignored or laughed at. Now it's a multi million industry.
I'm usually right at the loony end of the no censorship argument but this Sandy Cook thing bothers me. Maybe the answer is to go after the people that acted on his bullshit rather than him but that's obviously a lot more hassle.Last edited by Seshmeister; 02-15-2019, 09:53 AM.Comment

Watched a bit of it. Alex seemed stressed to the point of having a breakdown. It was like Jones was the patient and Joe Rogan was a councilor or psychiatrist. Basically Jones was saying he had gone too far and it had gotten out of hand. Kind of like a high school prankster who pissed the wrong people off and now he’s scared. This is going to do two things. Confirm to most Alex Jones is a unhinged bullshit peddler and make his followers who see him as legitimate believe he’s a sellout. Alex Jones really is in the survival gear/supplement business and he uses InfoWars to promote that. He could close InfoWars and continue as a online retailer. No! The first amendment protects a broad variety of speech. It's hard to go to jail in the US for saying something. We are pretty liberal there. Where you can get into trouble is libel. The first amendment will protect someone speaking their opinion that the Sandy Hook shooting was a false flag. It won't protect someone from libeling an individual or group. So if Alex was specifically slandering someone by telling lies about them he could be hit with a libel suit.Comment

If I can create my own mini conspiracy theory maybe it's not impossible he was planting it there as evidence for a future insanity plea if things start to go badly in the Sandy Hook case.Comment

Bullshit. No one is going after Jone$ for his "freedom of speech" on Sandy Hook. He is being sued for the harassment and doxing of the parents whose children were slaughtered by NRA-funded terrorism. Jone$ is a fucking idiot who does not know when to shut the fuck up and curb his lame-ass conspiracy horseshit. He overstepped his bounds thinking there would be no reprisals. Harassment and the calling for harassment is a crime. Now he is trying to reinvent himself with his this whole NASA/human sacrifices/Soros/mind control mumbo jumbo hoping it'll take the stream off of how much of a monster he really is.No! I think it's a more complicated case than what you describe.
As you posted earlier they are going after him on defamation saying that calling someone a liar for saying they held his son's body with a bullet hole in his head is a reckless and harmful statement and that does seem like a pretty strong case especially if it was put to a jury.
Jones defence team claims that it is his constitutional right to invent stories and that no reasonable person would take Mr Jones' words as fact could be seen as a stretch. He's lost the first couple of parts of this case in Texas no less and that's what makes me think he is ramping up the crazy. This has in turn led to that Rogan podcast getting (at last count 6 million) a lot of views but to put that in context the one with the scientist Brian Cox the other week is sitting at 3m + and the Rogan podcast does have over 4m subscribers. He routinely gets a couple of million views, sure a one off blip from Jones is good for business but not wildly so.Last edited by Seshmeister; 03-02-2019, 09:26 PM.Comment

Cunt Arrested in TX for DWI
Alex Jones Arrested for DWI in Texas
Nate Jackson and Margeaux Sippell
The WrapMarch 10, 2020, 3:24 PM EDT
Far-right conspiracy theorist and radio host Alex Jones was booked for a DWI at Travis County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated just after midnight Tuesday, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to TheWrap.
Jones, 46, was booked at 12:37 a.m., said Kristen Dark, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office. The driving while intoxicated charge is a class B misdemeanor, she said.
Dark added that his bail was set at $3,000 but he was released on a personal recognizance bond at 4:11 a.m. this morning.

Jones is known for running conspiracy theory website InfoWars, as well as his radio show “The Alex Jones Show” based out of Austin, Texas. The show airs in syndication on Genesis Communications Network (GCN) across the U.S. and on the internet.
The radio personality is known for ruffling feathers and making inflammatory statements.
At the end of last year, Jones and InfoWars were ordered to pay $100,000 in legal fees stemming from a defamation suit filed by the family of a Sandy Hook school shooting victim. Since then, Jones has acknowledged the shooting was indeed real and blamed his comments on a “form of psychosis,” according to a deposition he gave for a different defamation suit.
Prior to that, he was banned from Twitter in 2018 for violating the company’s policies regarding “abusive behavior.”
“I was taken down not because we lie but because we tell the truth,” Jones said while streaming on “War Room,” an InfoWars show. His dismissal wiped away about 1.5 million followers from his personal page.
A video of Jones badgering CNN’s Oliver Darcy on Wednesday was the final straw, according to The Daily Beast. “Those are the eyes of a rat,” Jones said to Darcy, after accusing Darcy and CNN of working to silence his voice on major platforms. Jones — on hand in Washington, D.C. for Twitter chief Jack Dorsey’s testimony to Congress — also went viral for blasting Sen. Marco Rubio as a “frat boy” and a “snake.”
