Yeah, um, a false comparison. Yes fossil fuel is needed and will be for the foreseeable future, and some "environmentalists" go to far and reach for too much. But the black and white misnomers are also a "scam". It perpetuates the idea that nothing can be done and that we all driving fucking smog gunning carbureted 1965 V-8's or electric cars. It misses the point regarding slowing global warming and one can still reduce the use of fossil fuels while still relying on it. Do you really think it's a "scam" to insulate a 1950's era skyscraper using new "green" technologies including revolutionary digital windows that control sunlight to improve both heating and cooling. Saving upwards of 50% on energy bills isn't fucking controversial!

In any case I think our only hope will be cold fusion...

I will go green when Al Gore moves into a yurt and gives up his private jets and big SUV’s for a bicycle.

Green is about the 1% keeping their thumb on the 99%.

Cheap energy empowers people and we can’t have that.

You're correct too... good stewardship in updating older infrastructure to reduce energy consumption and waste is also beneficial to the long term health of the planet. That should go hand in hand with continuing to reduce pollutants and cleaner emissions through improved technology and methods.

The scam part Von and me are referencing is the forced driving of fossil fuel production lower via regulations and governmental controls while positioning EV's, solar and wind power as the primary means to reduce emissions. EV's present more problems than solutions... solar and wind sources, while promising just can't consistently deliver the power needs for our nation and really for the planet overall.

To me the best solution is to drive for increased fossil fuel production to lower overall costs while in parallel drive innovation in wind, solar, hydro, fusion, hydrogen, etc. to develop long term, stable energy solutions that are sustainable.

The current push to choke fossil fuel production is the heart of the scam problem...
