I guess we'll figure it out when the spin cycle winds down.

Accountability is subjective, not unlike this discussion.

It's been a slow burn bro.....maybe Jimmy Carter shoulda gone
to Ireland instead of the middle east.

      Regardless, will apathy cause disinterest?

      Human nature kinda answers that.

The problem with this deal is that it isn't a war in a traditional sense. We are being dragged into a Hatfield/McCoy's situation that Isreal/Palestine are in, which is not the fault of the Bush administration.

If we didn't go to war this time, the terrorists would continue provoking us until we did. That's what they want, they want their holy war. Standing around, getting punked time after time isn't gonna help either. The first attack on the Trade Center, Kenya, the Cole bombing were all meant to get us into conflict directly. Nobody wants to fight, this just had to happen.

If you think removing one man and his cabinet is going to stop any of this, your in for a huge letdown.

I feel we invaded Iraq for several reasons and I don't need my government to spell it out for me. The first and most important, is to engage the enemy in their house, not ours. The thousand who have died, may they rest in peace with our thanks, engaged the enemy head on and removed 2/3 of the Taliban leadership. Invading Iraq solved a multitude of problems for our situation. WMD were the official reason and what people who want to oversimplify the issues chose to focus on. If we found WMD's immediately, they would have found another issue to bitch about. Because we haven't (to me the jury is still out, when you have a sandbox the size of texas to comb through), doesn't mean there was not several other valid reasons to be there. We freed the Iraqi people, we created a place to fight and we protected the American people. Although 1,000 brave Americans have died, in the history of armed conflict that is an amazingly low number and unprecendented when considering the job done.

We need to understand that this will be almost a life long issue for our generation and one we must prepare ourselves for. There is no isolationist option here, as many are desperately trying to find. This conflict went on before Bush and it will go on after Bush.

I cannot disagree [this is KILLING me] with BT's post.

However, I still feel this admin has been a sham from day 1, in EVERY respect. And if what you say is true, then so be it, as long as ANYONE BUT BUSH/CHENEY/RICE/ASHCROFT/RUMSFELD is running it.

I have agreed with BT, I must now disembowel myself to restore honor to my family

Don't worry Max. He turns 18 well after the registration deadline. He won't be able to vote until next year.

i don't know about wisconsin, ally, but in virginia, as long as you're 18 by the general election, you can (and should) register.

Can you register at the polls and then vote?

In the majority of states, there's a deadline where the registration card must be in the office, time stamped, and entered into the system so it can be in the list come election day. The deadline is normally set for between the middle of August to the beginning of September

registrations are closed 29 days prior to a general election, so you can't register at the polls.

but, you CAN register when you are 17, so long as you'll be 18 by the time of the general election.

in virginia, anyone who'll turn 18 by november 2nd, can register by october 4th and then vote.

yeah, but most people wait until their birthday and if he does that, as he indicated in another thread that he was going to do, then he won't be able to vote.

Yes it IS the fault of the Bush Administration. Or more specifically, the PNACers within the Bush Administration who are in fact, double agents of the Israeli Likud government.

The entire PNAC agenda Iraq, Iran, Syria, etc. is all about anyone who would dare challenge Israel for dominance of the Middle East. it has NOTHING to do with threats against the United States of America.

actually, i just checked the wisconsin electoral board (which i probably shoulda looked for in the 1st place rather than spouting off about an off-the-topic virginia).

in wisconsin, evidently he can register the day of the election.

                              sorry, MAX!!
