Like I said in the other thread, these lives did not die in vain. If you know anything about the history of warfare, 1000 deaths is a remarkably small amount, especially when you consider the size of the task accomplished. We are there to fight them in their own house. WMD's gave us a place to play ball (and the jury is certainly still out on WMD's to begin with...mobile weapons in a sandbox the size of Texas, plus being given a couple months warning, does not equal instant find). Your deluding yourself if you think it was purely about WMD's, or for some, oil. It was about fighting them away from our citizens, like in Afghanistan. Afghanistan did not require so much effort, as we had the Russians eager to get back in and kick some ass, after havin their heads handed to them in 1979.
The choice to serve is a personal one. Your convictions for going are personal. Your convictions about those who serve and what they do are personal. None of these concepts need to be mixed in order for any to be valid.Comment
