I would rather preserve one branch of the government and then work to regain the other two than lose all three and be living under complete fascism. You want Judge Roy putting his giant marble monuments in every public building? You want them to force you to pledge allegiance to their fucked up version of "God" under penalty of death??
Exactly. We cannot let George pick any Supreme Court Justices. Just like we cannot have him changing the Constitution.

If Kerry can at least be slicker, maybe we can not have the rest of the world hate our guts. That's a start.

Right, because as we all know, the President can change the Constitution.

As far as the rest of the world hating our guts - who cares? This isn't a popularity contest, what is this, High School? Other countries hated Reagan too but had to somewhat keep a lid on it becasue there was still the Soviet menace. Now they have nothing to hold them back from hating a Republican President.

        1. Even suggesting changing the Constitution to limit someone's rights shows a comtempt for the document. It makes me sick that our president would do so.

        2. I've heard the "it's not a popularity contest" bullshit before, probably from you. I think 9-11 showed us that the oceans are not enough to protect us from today's threats. While American foriegn policy cannot be made to appease everyone, one of the goals is to not have the whole friggin' world pissed at us at once.

We have a State Department that coordinates diplomatic efforts and Bush&Friends steamrolled right the fuck over it. It's pretty much a joke now after Colin Powell destroyed his credibility trying to help Bush.

I think too many judges in higher courts legislate for the bench, a sure sign of being too far left. We need more conservatives in those positions.

Oddly enough I kinda agree with that. But not with Bush friend's being in the Supreme Court.
