Do you believe in Ford's PNAC bullshit? Cause that's what it is, pure bullshit (I have been over the document).

The point is they diversified at the end of the cold war, as they had to. There were new needs in the world. To say they did because in a few years they would START a war to make money on these services is completely retarded.

When you consider there are 8-10 wars going on in the world at any given time, the need for those services is there whether or not the US was involved in a conflict.
No, I don't necessarily believe that a war was started to pad Halliburtan's profits. But when a company is restructured specifically to support wars fought in the middle east during a time when Rummy seeks to increase manpower by hiring civilian contractors to do the jobs that soldiers usually once performed (at about twice the paycheck), it does seem a little funny. But I will accept that this is coincidence. My main problems are that Rummy, Wolfieshit, and their cronies have continually undermined their military officers on matters of policy and strategic deterrence. After most Republicans swore off civilians (like LBJ) micromanaging the armed forces during the Vietnam era, the neocons have given again decided to discount uniformed opinions and decide they know what is best for the nation. Halliburtan is a symptom of a far greater problem-incompetence in the oval office.
