I dig that ending a solo into silence, slow tap thing like "the Cradle will rock" or AC/DC'c "let there be rock"
Your "stock" EVH licks that you use frequently?

You're right Brett, we are the last of a dying breed of guitarists. Kids today couldn't blow a solo if they had their nutsacks on a chopping block. I've all but lost hope that real guitar playing will come back to rock.Comment

Thats right....and the guy from Green Day on the COVER of a magazine called "Guitar LEGENDS" ....makes me wonder....Comment

The one tried and true Eddie songwriting clutch..... the A chord...
Otherwise, I've never cared for tapping and I play mostly on a ratty old classical with 12 year old strings so other than artificial harmonics, most of Ed's tricks are out of the question.Comment

I use lot of EVH tricks fairly regular (tapping, dive bombs, trem picking..... you get the general drift). The handy thing is, Van Halen aren't really know in the UK, so when I play like that, it really blows people away.Roth Army MilitiaComment

If I'm playin' for a younger crowd here Don, it's the same thing!
The last 10 years an entire generation has come along with ZERO knowledge of EVH...........
Incredible. Who would have ever thought it would fall so fast............Comment

The last thing EVH did that was different was use a drill on "Cheesecake" in '91. Anyone who knows guitar knows that Paul Gilbert was doing it long before him. Booze and blow have definitely
numbed his creativity (and better judgement) a long time ago !Trolls take heed...LOG OUT & FUCK OFF!!!
