    Powered monitor speakers...

    I'm thinking of getting powered monitors...

    Are there any drawbacks to these?

    I realise that I will need an extention cord for each.

    Where are the good deals?

      I personally don't like the idea of the amp being inside the monitor...but other than that, I can't see any real drawback other than weight.

              I'm still undecided...I probably will go with passive.

              I guess its a trade off...I wouldn't need a separate amp for monitors...BUT they would be heavy...and I would have to run extention cords everywhere.
