Oh you can say that again, bro!
The more polished and processed Ed's tone became, the more mediocre and anti-climatic his work became.
Ed settled into a groove that he and Spammy tried like hell to market as "Not Flavor of the Month".
But the release of Poundcake marked the end of the illusion know as Edward Van Halen.

His best work was done on garbage, damn straight that is inspiring. and even after he had some cash he still hung tight to the gear, but it was ever evolving, or de-evolving in Ed's case, to a point where it isn't un-inspiring but lacks the "freestyle" fire that we fell in love with.

I hated the Kramer, and i hate the Earnie Ball as well as the Wolfgang.
Those guitars just don't suit me.
Gibson and Charvel made the only guitars of choice for me.

Cool thread indeed ... The Wolfy is like driving a caddy for me ... it's like a marlboro medium cigarette, not to heavy and not to light ...

I've never really noticed before just how roughly cut the scratch plate on the B/W Franky really was.

I think a lot of that had to do with that piece of shit Ernie Ball guitar he had ...

Have you ever played a Wolfy there Cat? ...

Maybe Cato can translate that Jap page in that link?
