Rol's Guitars

I know the dude's infamous within the VH community cos of the replicas he used to make and the legal probs that followed.

However, I have a pal who wants a decent "cheapie" and "workhorse." By "cheap" I'm by no means dissing the quality of these guitars. I'm meaning that they're extremely quality products in comparrison to the big boys for the price.

Anyhoo, does anyone own or can anybody give me some personal imput on Rol's products? I've heard they're beyond quality and outstanding. I'd just like to hear it from anyone who actually owns one or has played one.

I've heard some very good things about Rols, however like most places they have also been known to churn out some stinkers.

I do know of one case where a guy purchased a 5150 replica from what he "Claimed" was Rols, when he got it the paint was shot to hell (and I mean it was really bad quality work) and the pickup had a nice big crack in it.

That said, if this was a Rols axe then this is only 1 bad case in how many guitars.
