Danelectro Talk Back Reverse Delay Pedal

Got this baby a few months back off EBAY......

I was kinda perplexed at first as to how/where to use it....make it musical, that is.

    Very trippy for solos....

    Can add cool effects...........

I can cop that ButtHole Surfers "PEPPER" riff dead nutz perfect......

anybody else out there into strange "FLOYDIAN" effects?!?

I like stuff like this and a friend of mine owns the same pedal Matt. He uses it for "Blue Veins" and for "Voodoo Chile" during the solo part.

Have some fun with that one and run a voice box through it! You'll laugh your ass off.

The only problem with that pedal is you have to zone out what you hear and play what you know. If you start listening to what's coming out...it'll mess you up!

      Yup...nice call Doc...

Just play as usual...and go with the flow...

I sample it...and loop it back...adds some cool "Trippiness" to the musical proceedings!

Some people are peddle masters. Andy Summers. David Gilmour and few others. They just have the knack to make that stuff musical.

For me, effects get in the way and I can't stand to lose feel or control. I like a good fuzz tone. A good overdrive for my Strat. A Phase 90 (I use it for lots of things besides EVH stuff, it's my Univibe for the Hendrix stuff), a good wah wah does wonders.

I've gotten rid of delays, echos, compressors, choruses. For me it all got in the way.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

          Hmmmm......

I dig using unique effects to add some color to what I'm doing.....

I'm not a big fan of using the same setup for every song I play...........

If you do it well, it's an art unto itself. I've just noticed guitar players fall into two camps on that stuff. Some love effects and others try to avoid them. We all go through the gizmo stage though. Remember the 80's where everyone had racks full of shit and then in the 90's it went rehtro. I guess we have the best of it all now. Lot's of good effects out there to be had and they are cheaper than ever.

I remember a BOSS pedal from the late 80's that would let you sample up to a few seconds. For example you could hold down
the pedal and play the riff to "Whole lotta Love" then it would
repeat that riff over and over. It was actually quite fun, you
could almost create your own rhythm backup instantly and
play a solo to it.. For the life of me I cant remember the
name of the pedal.. Anyone here know this little beastie.. ??

Matt, what are the new samplers like ?
Are they easy to adjust the timing between
each sample ? I remember the old one was
a bit hit and miss like that. Almost like it needed
                    that adjustment built into it...

Im guessing modern tchnology would have that
                    shit now...

Can you change tempo without changing the
key of the riff etc ??

I plug my guitar into Garage Band on my Apple Macbook. There's effects and it's like a mini recording studio.

The effects actually sound good too.
