Does anyone have their lute hooked up to their comp?

I would think the computer screen would shatter.

GarageBand for Mac has everything you need to learn, play, record, mix, and share incredible music, even if you’ve never played a note.

    HA!!!!!

I play guitar on my computer all the time. Got some amp emulators that I run it through....not as good as using a real amp, but good for late night and demos. Most albums today are recorded on computers, so it ain't no big 'ting.

Even with an amp, can't the computer's speakers/sound system be messed up if played too loudly?

Any speaker can be blown if played too loudly. There's no difference between listening to mp3s or a CD on your computer, and playing guitar through one.

Shit...my computer is plugged into a Pioneer 100-watt Stereo power amp that runs 2 Tannoy Studio Monitors.

I can crank that fucker up so loud it will blow the Tannoys (did that once when Pantera's "Reinventing The Steel" album came out...fried the crossovers).

That is what I listen to when tracking.

As in the picture tube? That front glass is fairly thick. I'm sure it could be broken by sound, but if you had something loud enough to do that, then you're going to have a lot more shit torn up first....like windows and whatever other glass is around. :D

I use Apple's Garage Band and my MacBook laptop for a practice amp when I'm traveling. I bring my Mexican Strat (no big loss if it gets stolen) and have at it.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

LOL! one of my computers is plugged into a Carvin DJ mixer that goes through a SE-40 tube amp and a SAE power amp on two sepparate channels driving four speakers plu a subwoofer with it's own Carvin power amp. Let's see, rounding things out I'm pushing 300 watts per side. Can you hear my game? LOL!

I'm sure special effects have been used in a guitar advertisement somewhere. I can picture it in my head... use such good equipment it can shatter glass on your comp or anywhere!
