5150 amps sound like ass when the idle current in the bias is running too cold. Also, a choke in the plate voltage supply does wonders.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

      'Tain't available here, McGee...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

I don't care for the Wolfgang guitar either. There isn't anything about it I like. That's ok, it isn't for everyone. I also agree, his tone has suffered for years. He is inspired by Clapton, which is cool. But when Ed tries to be him and play the neck pickup, man it sounds like shit. His wah wah use sucks too.

Don't cry. You haven't missed anything. Smoking Loon Cabernet is nasty! It's thick and nasty. It's a meal. Eddie is proving one can live off the shit.

Asthetically I don't like the Wolfgang but I have two of them and enjoy playing them. You are right, the neck pickup sounds like ass. I never use it but when it's blended with the bridge pickup, the guitar gets a thick Les Paul tone. I'm in Jimmy Page territory with both pickups going.

I just love the neck on the Wofgangs and they are a big hunk of wood that does sound good. They just look chunky. They don't have the sexy lines of a Les Paul or a Strat.

True 'dat. Was never into the looks of the Musicman's or the Wolfie's, neck pickup sounds ok...not so into the neck shape. But then I like super-wide 1 3/4" nut width compound-radius beasts...it's all subjective...

My Wolfgang Special is my laying around the house guitar. I probably play it the most but it's deffinately not something I'm going to hang on the wall and look at like it's a piece of art.

The Wolfie is like an ugly girl that has great sounding orgasms. LOL!

The MusicMan was a badass guitar, way better than the Wolfgang.

If you look out of the window - you see a Line 6 logo off in the distance. I'd guess this was a prototype guitar they made for Ed.

Ed owns the rights to the Wolfgang design, and he's working on new Wolfie prototypes.

I had a PV Wolfie and I hated the stock pickups: Neck P/U was boomy as HELL, and the bridge P/U had a very ugly spike in the mids.
Steve Blucher from DiMarzio recommended and Air Norton for the neck & Air Zone for the bridge. I got those, put 'em in, and it was a whole new guitar. Absolutely amazing with the DiMarzios installed.
