Love the output jack on the Strats. Easy to find. Can be played sitting down. Kudos

Let's not forget that Fender invented the electric bass as well. Fender basses are the standard by which all others are measured. Funny how little things have changed since those first guitars and basses were made in the 50's. Lots of fads since then, but everyone ends up going back to the originals at some point in time.

Leo Fender basically owned an electrical appliance shop. He was the dude who would sell you a new radio or fix a broken radio for you. He also loved country western music.

The early Fender guitar designs came from listening to country western musicians at the time. Some said they didn't like how the Telecaster dug into their torso and arm when they played it. It was a guy named Bill Carson who had the idea of carving contours into the body. He figure since the guitar was electrical, then the body could be any shape. The horns on the Strat were borrowed from the Precission Bass since that longer horn on top helped balance the guitar better.

So Leo gets the credit but the ideas came from sevral people. Leo just listened to what the customer wanted and gave it to them. Some people think that's a new concept but not really.

I still love the sound of the Precission bass and the neck on the Jazz Bass is unequalled in my book. You are right. Look at Geddy Lee. He started playing a Jazz bass, went to Richenbacher, then Steinberger, then Wall, and others and now he's back to playing a Jazz bass.

I think you naturally evolve towards the instrument that best suits you. I love Gibsons but I ended up selling a nice Les Paul because I never played it. I got used to the Fender string spacing and going to a Gibson messed me up. I just played the Fender Strat type guitars more.

Kind of like how you find the right person to marry. You just hang around each other long-enough and like each other enough to say, "Fuck it let's get married." LOL!

The whole guitar is sexy. One night I was just kicking it back and I looked at my Strat with it's sexy feminine curves and got horny. Went into the bedroom where my wife was reading a novel. She took one look at me and knew I was in fucking anf romping mood. She asked what got me horny and I said looking at my guitar. She laughed and we fucked. LOL!
