help needed! anyone hear own or ever played a Fender HM strat...im thinkin of gettin1

Help appreciated folks, they look good and i always fancied a strat set up with a floyd/ kahler. Also does anyone here have a mexican fender strat with a floyd as i was lookin at one and have heard mixed reviews. The HM is the one i really fancy though

I set up a couple back in the day and I did some work on one, maybe a pickup installation or something...

Every one I laid my hands on were made in USA and very nice...

They can be set up with very low action ,and in my opinion, have a very nice neck shape that I prefer compaired to the flatter feeling necks as on an Ibanez or some Jacksons...

I don't care for the 80's looking STRAT on the headstock, but the last year or two it was changed to a regular fender logo and a much smaller STRAT I believe...

The two different logo's are shown on the link you posted, col, but as far as I know the HM Strat was a USA only guitar, not Jap...

Get one, they're cheap on ebay...

Cheers folks, im gonna try and snag one next time one comes up on ebay in britain. i ws watchin one goin in the usa but by the time i add shipping plus import tax it aint worth it. The one i was watchin jumped to near enough $600 + $120 shipping + $90 import tax /handling fee .Ill keep my eyes open for another

They made a few in Japan, starting in 88 or 89 before they stopped making them. There were definitely some Made in Japan HM Strats.

They show up on evilBay Germany occasionally and shipping to the UK is only about 22-25 Euros. I paid 350 Euros for mine, Made in USA BTW.

Yup. They're not bad, though E is right...that Headstock logo sucked even then....
