I would like to know what is this black that he used: if it's that water-based lacquer, that shit's reactive to solvent and you can't spray over that stuff.

"He" used? Again, it's a Musikraft offering. "Jamerson Guitars" is their Ebay store. And since they're big proponents of Nitro, I'd be willing to be that's what it is, or at least something compatible.
But call 'em and ask if you really must know.

Well with the pending divorce and all today i took my blue strat/kramer/jackson apart and am going to make it a Frankie when frankie was just the black and white. Plus i wont have the fender style neck. Mine is the black Kramer style that they used on the late 80's early ninties guitars. Oh well it will be fun.

Is that neck what they call the "beak" headstock? I have one of those.

no its the one that is black with the blocked letters where the "K" is larger and the size gets lower. Tons of work to make it right again.

It has a slight volute bump under the nut? Those necks were made in New Jersey I believe.

Earth to Dumbass , it's a near-accurate recreation of EVH's hacked chisel-job on the original Frankie...and any true guitarist and EVH fan would recognize that immediately... Busted.

And it's a Musikraft, the only company licensed to do Frankie-spec replica bodies.
