Ok, I uploaded a couple images to Sony Imageshack...

Cool...

That's not the pickguard I'm using. I ordered a gold anodized Fender '57 eight hole pickguard...

The fretboard was soaked with lemon oil when I took those pics...

So, now I can document the rest with pics...

Here's a pic of my real '55 hardtail body that most people cringe at the idea of finishing it in gold metal flake...

And here's my take on a frankenstrat that I built years ago and at one time was my only guitar...

How times have changed...



I scalloped the neck myself (first one I ever did) and I painted the blocks over the original black dots...

I polished it up and put strings on it the other day along with a stupid battery for the EMG's that are about to be on ebay...

Actually, the neck pickup sounds awesome, but the bridge pickup sounds thin and lifeless compared to the HS-3's that I have in almost everything...

That's a Washburn Wonderbar on there that I'm thinking of removing and selling on ebay and replacing it with a black Kahler...

The best things about the Wonderbar is that it requires no routing underneath and it's both left and right handed...

It just doesn't have the string flapping range of a Kahler...

I also made the pickguard from scratch from a piece of BWB pickguard material but I didn't bevel the edge...

I don't think I had that guitar out of it's case in five years...

Phew! :p You scared me there for a minute..... Not a fan of tortoise shell pickguards...
I'm interested to see what the gold one will look like..
I'm gonna do something similar sometime soon, but will be doing an Ebony fingerboard with a black pickguard...I'm thinking 2-tone sunburst...

...Think I should do a half-scalloped fretboard?

And oh yeah: Just say no to Wonderbars and Kahlers. If you're talking about locking trems, it's all about the Floyd, baby.

I think the Roses are great too, but they
dont have the same feeling as the Kahler..
(To me anyway)

My favorite trems are the Fender American Standard and a Kahler stud mount for Gibson style guitars...

This is the new flat mount Kahler 2300 I'd like to replace the Wonderbar with...bit it's like $300...

Y'know, to each his own.
I never liked the feel of the Kahlers, but that's me.

My favorite standard bridges are the vintage Fender trem, and the Les Paul style trapeze bridge/tailpiece...
if it's a locking tremolo, for me it has to be an Orignal Floyd Rose.

And the gold sparkle looks kick ASS. I highly suggest a white pearloid pickguard to complete the look...

Me too!!!

I even hate the new "Original" Floyds. I have two axes with them and eventually, I'll buck up and seek out some mid-eighties models in which to replace them. There's just something about the old ones.
