    Norman Nut File Gauge System

With six guitar necks lying on my coffee table and even more attached to guitars everywhere in sight, I need these...

The Norman Nut File Gauge System combines nut slot cutting and string to fret depth gauging for a wide variety of string sizes and is designed for electric and acoustic guitars as well as bass guitars. The set consists of (13) 4.0” long by 0.50” wide high quality hardened carbon steel gauges with cutting teeth 2” along one edge. The gauge sizes are .125, .105, .085, .070, .058, .052, .046, .040, .034, .028, .022, .017 and .012 as marked on each file. The edges are rounded allowing for a good string fit at the base of the nut slot.

The first guitar I tried to customize was an Ibanez Roadstar and I remember tring to cut a new nut not knowing what I was doing. That was one clusterfuck.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

Yeah, I've done it countless times in the past without the proper tools...

My results were good but it was a serious pain in the butt...

Man... you would want steady hands methinks !

I would end up cutting into the fretboard or the
        headstock lol....

On a semi related note I’ve been looking at some maintenance tools, mainly for re fretting and the prices people charge are so over the top! The nut tool you’re buying, Elvis is a bit different cause its obviously machined for accuracy. I was having a look at some tools Luthiers were selling on ebay. $200 for a set of 4 radiused (if that’s a word) fret sanding blocks. !!! Am I the only one who thinks that’s a little steep ??
