Les Paul Classic vs. Les Paul Standard

They are pretty much the same guitar with only slight differences. What do you guys/gals prefer and why?

I have been looking at 4 specific guitars.

    Les Paul Standard Honeyburst
    Les Paul Standard Goldtop
    Les Paul Classic Cherryburst
    Les Paul Classic Goldtop

I like all four of them quite a bit, but I'm just curious who likes what and why.

    Thanks for your help.

Les Pauls and me just don't get along, man. They sound fantastic but they dig into my body when I play them sitting down. I think Panamark has a couple of Les Pauls.

I really like Gibson SG's, dude. I played one in my local guitar store a couple of weeks ago. It was light as fucking, tight sounding and played beautifully.

I got hooked on SG's when Musicians Friend was bought out by Guitar Center and they were moving a bunch of inventory cheap. They had a Epiphone double neck and I plugged it into a Marshall amp and the thing sounded great and I couldn't believe the resonance the body got. I played a Guild SG styled guitar and didn't like it and played a Gibson SG that was great.

I have an Epi G400 (Three Pickup Model) and a Gibson 1961 Reissue. Both rock and my Epiphone is still stock, for some reason the pickups sound fine on it. Just use a wider strap to keep the neck diving down and an SG will do everything the heavier Les Paul will do. Also if you play a Strat, the SG is less of a switch than the Les Paul is.

I also like how you can easily play all the way up the neck and if you pick up the guitar and shake it you gat a cool effect from the neck flexing. These are fragile guitars though but they rock!
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

Nope...came that way...an older cousin of mine gave it to me in the late 1980's...after my Pappy had died....

                              I added the stickers

The paint job is really hit...back of the guitar has a huge bare spot...right down to the wood....
