I just copy Ed 9-40 quage strings on a 25.5 scale tuned E flat. Can't go wrong in my book.
I like E flat tuning but I have to raise the action because the strings just feel too loose.

      :D

9-42 Strings for me and Large frets of course.

I was in a heavy stoner rock band called that did that as well, see the post above.

Also, when we did jam on thursday, we performed in E flat, and I didn't hear any complaining, so we'll see. I did mention using the heavier strings, and I will bring it up again. The drummer agreed with me on this as well.

I've always played 9-42 gauge and never have tried anything else. I have a friend who plays 11's on his tele and I pick it up and play it and really don't think much about the strings.

But i play both bass and guitar so maybe that's it. I'm used to playing bridge cable sized strings on a bass.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

            Niiice...

There's no turning back. After many years of playing my hands got way stronger and it was too easy to end sharp. When I bend up a whole tone I like to feel the string stall in pitch. And if I choose to bend sharp or beyond I like a bit of fight.
And the best thing about heavier strings is the fact that chords intonate and ring truer. Nice and tight.
Trolls take heed...LOG OUT & FUCK OFF!!!

11-58. Only little girls play with light strings. With the solid rosewood neck, it sounds huge.

E Flat you gained one note.
                  Is it worth it?
No utilize your gear and you can still get the heavy sounds.

Detuning by a 1/2 step is bullshit. 99% of the people out there cant tell anyway. Yep i'm one of them.

If you know your gear you'll do fine.

But if you choose to detune, have fun.
It sure gives a heck of a ka-chung.
