That's a 5150 combo. They changed the voicing on the crunch channel and incorporated that into the 5150II head. Peavey factory biases their amps cold and if you want a warm sound you have to change the bias setting to where the idle current is hotter.Originally posted by ULTRAMAN VH

Once you do that you have the tone of what's in the You Tube video. I have a 5150 combo and a 6505+ head and both get the tone. I still like these amps better than the EVH 5150 III if they are running good tubes with a proper bias.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

David Lee Roth thought he could replace Ed with other players and even called Lee Jackson to help Steve Vai get the sound but it didn't work.
