Fender's Dave Murray Stratocaster
-
Ah, the Strat Dave Murray bought off Paul Kosoz's father after he died.
UP THE IRONS!!!!!Roth Army Militia -
If Fender had offered this guitar's configuration from the very point in 1983 when the Fender employees had bought the company from CBS, Charvel wouldn't have had such a vast toe-hold in the custom-shop guitar market that Fender wouldn't have had to buy them out.
I didn't know this belonged to Free's Paul Kossov, either and didn't know he was a strat man. I picture him with that 59 Les Paul flametop.Comment

Nice, but I'd rather have a Floyd there.
And it's Paul Kossoff...Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

Apparently Dave still has all the original fittings that were on the guitar when he bought it off Kossov's father in case he ever decides to restore it.
I sooner have one of these than the new Wolfgang though.Roth Army MilitiaComment

Cool!
Some info from the Fender site...
Dave Murray Stratocaster®
Guitarist Dave Murray of seminal U.K. metal heroes Iron Maiden has been banging his head with Fender since the mid ’70s. Murray recently joined forces with Fender to create a signature model based on his own ’57 Stratocaster, previously owned by late, great Free guitarist Paul Kossoff. The Dave Murray Stratocaster guitar boasts a supercharged HSH configuration—a DiMarzio® PAF® 36th Anniversary DP103 neck pickup, a DiMarzio® Super Distortion® DP100 bridge pickup and a Fender vintage-style middle pickup. Other features include a lacquer finish, and a flatter soft V-shaped neck with satin back. Vintage tweed hardshell case included.Trolls take heed...LOG OUT & FUCK OFF!!!

I think I'm going to buy one, and quite probably I'm also going to get a White/Black Jackson Adrian Smith also
Dave and Adrian were my very first influences, these are the guys that made me want to pick up a guitar in the 1st place.Roth Army MilitiaComment

Very nice. :D Dave was one of my early influences too, and always loved that Strat. Almost built one like it in the late 80s. I always heard both the neck an bridge humbuckers were Dimarzio Super Distortions back in the day.

No dude...
I bought a 2001 pristine USA Strat from ebay for $500 with free shipping...
I have the the neck scalloped, but no finish on the fretboard. I have a real early 80's Super Distortion for the bridge and a cream PAF for the neck...
I also have the chrome pickup rings...
I just need the single ply 57 style pickguard and maybe some vintage style tuners...
