BTW I have been thinking about bridges since this topic came up.

I will be taking up this challenge of Titanium in the next few weeks, my plan is to go even lighter than aluminum with a full wood block.

I think aluminum parts have been done before (Gibson's original ABR-1 bridge from the '58-59 Les Pauls) so why not try something different?

I thought wood would be interesting: so the block I'm gonna do will be solid maple or ash, having steel or aluminum bosses inserted just for the top plate to thread into.

That should be interesting. If it works out like I know it will, I'll do one in a Floyd block too.
