The "current" EVH strats are 3pc basswood blanks with a veneer on both top and bottom same as the Kramers.

However, any wood played by an asshole could be maligned as "asswood."

Hale doesn't want to address the basswood problem. He still thinks Fender didn't use alder until after Hendrix. He should just hit the "ash" button on Recabinet, and that will fix it.

Fender also used POPLAR in the fifties! My 58 Duosonic body is POPLAR and I totally love it.. I'm refinishing it and reassembling when I get free time. I have a fucked up early 60's Duosonic also, Alder.
