    I've never played a guitar with an ebony fingerboard.. does it really make a difference?

        It's fast and slick feeling like Maple, also has a similarly bright, punchy tone....and is none more black. I ♥ it on my Koa Strat -I want more of them....

            Ebony is a real tough wood. If you live in a dry climate you want to keep it oiled because it's been known to crack when it dries out.

                Doesn't have to be oiled even remotely nearly as much as run-of-the-mill Rosewood, which seems to drink lemon or linseed oil...
