That link isn't working for me but be careful about which Alesis Multimix you buy.

I had the old USB one and you couldn't record more than 1 stereo channel individually at a time, it dumps all the input into one track.

Sold it on eBay a few months back.

Hell, a damn Tascam 2488 is only 799 these days. Stand alone units are great for tracking, as that is all they are meant to do. Then you can export your tracks into your DAW for use with plugins, etc. for mixdown. Just a thought.

HR, I was looking into those but I still have my ADAT, so I do have a stand alone and would still need an audio interface to get into the computer, anyways.

Walked into a bar called Sully's one night and heard the lead singer of a good Van Halen, the Real Van Halen, cover band say the next song is the last. I shouted out something like "Fuck That! I just got here!"

Dickering around with riffs today.... Ever tried to sit down and write a specific VH-inpsired-but-not-shameless-ripoff riff? Harder than it sounds! Anybody else come up with anything yet?

Just latch onto one aspect of VH for inspiration. That is what I did. Alex's double-kick shuffle. Then, if you are in the zone, the rest of the tune should write itself.
