No , it's baked maple and in my humble opinion is pretty good , lets face it my rosewood Epi LP Custom is shit by comparison .... Maple board Strats are what I know best anyway , and tbh this is probably better than all of them .

      I love it.

It would look SICK with black hardware (in a good way). Just sayin'.

Haha , yes ! I'll give you a bit of info on this model if I may ? Gibson LP customs are really well over priced , like £3000 !!! in the UK . So as i was not loving the YJM anymore and had a bit of cash on the hip I decided to go Gibson .These guitars are a limited run because of the baked maple board , now the Gibson purists don't like this shit ... you HAVE to have Ebony or Rosewood , well I disagree . This model retails at .... wait for it .... £1399 . What do you get ? Ok you get Weight relieved ( not chambered as the standards ) making it a heavy load and '57 alnicos , the differences between this and a LP custom are there but ... Back binding ? I don't give a shit .... plastic fret inlays ? been on standards since the '70's , but WOAH the real reason is ..... BAKED MAPLE !!!!

I researched these guitars in great detail , and came to the conclusion that every review and everything said about them was positive .... I had the choice of three , this one weighs 10 lbs has a dark fretboard and to be honest is totally fantastic ... Three grand or fourteen hundred quid ? . Gibson are trying to push the baked maple because of the rosewood bollocks that's been going on , therefore these guitars which I have to say are pretty awesome are as cheap as chips , I might change the pickups sometime but that's about it .

Great guitar at a great price . Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom.

I wouldn't trade my YJM100 for anything, but cool guitar.
