it appears they outsourced the stringing. whoever did mine failed miserably.

Some guitars smell great and others smell like ass. I was restringing my daughter's Manuel Rodriguez classical guitar and that guitar smells great. It's the smell of the woods it's made out of. My first guitar was a used Yamaha acoustic. It smelled nasty. It had that old musty smell old instruments have. I have an Epiphone electric that smells like funk. It's this funky furniture polish type smell.

I was over at someone's house and they had a Takamine leaning up against the wall. I played it and it was a great guitar. I wanted to take it home but they wouldn't let me have it.

now i've had it for 24 hours, fanged around on it in standard, open d, and dadgad tunings i'm very satisfied that it's a 1st class bit of gear that will be with me for the rest of my life.

it's the little details... the tuning machines are amazing, the binding and purfling are spot on perfect, the spruce top is aaa grade, ebony fretboard dots, the fretboard/fretwork is perfect, the case has to be worth 300 bucks...

awesome value. i'll end up paying about $1500 aus for this instrument; as i said, i've played guitars 3x this money that were about as good.

what a score! j, i will do a recording within a week or so.
