Since I don't have any progress on 5150 to post yet.... I made progress on my franky. I replaced the crap pickup with an EVH Frankenstein Humbucker.

I've had a few nice pickups. I drive an SUV now but I had a real nice Ford F-250 a few years ago. I had a 72 GMC 3/4 ton with a 396 but it sucked too much gas and some dude bought it and yanked the motor to put in his El Camino. I know that's not the kind of pickup you mean but I'm naturaly a smartass. I just can't help myself sometimes.

Yeah it is. I think it's hilarious when people stare at my replica. They either think "What the hell is that piece of junk" or "OMG is that what I think it is?"

Yeah it has been beat up way more since around 1984. That's where I referenced the relicing from as well as matching how new/ old the red layer looks. Which is slightly shiny and dark based on this picture.
